Arche watercolor paper 300g/m2, grain towel.

Colors: gum-gutte yellow, natural Siena land or yellow ochre, carmine, permanent pink, brown garance, burnt Siena, burnt shadow, ceruum blue, cobalt blue, Prussian blue, indigo, neutral winsor hue and newton.

Brushes: Dalbe 200, pure marten, N° 8, Raphael 303, small pure grey, N° 2.

1. Picture of the children :

2. Preparatory drawing for watercolour.

3. Drawing carried over on watercolor paper.

4. Start painting the girl's wax with a carmine wash, add in the cool, small touches of cobalt blue and ceruleum blue in the shadows.

5. Paint the skirt with a more sustained wash of brown winsor and newton (a mixture of burnt Siena and Carmin earth).

6. Paint the down jacket with indigo, force for the shadows using the same shade more loaded with pigments.

7. In the darker parts, intensify in the humid to indicate volumes. Work the down jacket leaving whites that will bring light.

8. Paint the pants with a mixture of cobalt blue and indigo. Under the down jacket, intensify the shadow with indigo.

9. Paint the very light hair of the girl with natural Siena land, leave a lot of white to suggest blondeness. For the boy's hair, then pass a little burnt Siena earth. Place a very diluted permanant rose wash on the wax.

10. Accentuate the folds of the skirt with brown garance. Paint tights with the neutral shade of winsor and newton (or black).

11. Paint the shoes with brown garance for the girl and indigo for the boy.

12. Start painting the meadow after wetting plenty of paper with a mixture of gum-gutte and Prussian blue and natural Siena soil in the yellow parts.

13. For hair, define more shadows with scorched shade earth and for the girl of the land of Siena burned, work with a very fine brush. Paint the trees with greens composed of gum-gutte and Prussian blue and in the darker areas add indigo to the first mixture. Let dry.

14. Add details on the girl's shoes with brown garance, the shadows of the boy's pants with indigo. Paint the foliage in the background with darker touches without darkening too much.

Good luck and good watercolor to all!
