Paper : Canson Heritage 300 gr. Brushes : squirrel (Raphaël n° 3/0), one little sable brush (Raphaël n°1 kolinsky) for détail. Palette to prepare colours, pencils HB, 2 glasses of water: one to damp the paper and the other to clean the brushes. Tissues.
1. Draw the flower with the pencil (HB) .

2. Start by painting the background: wet sheet carefully avoiding the flowers, the white colour of the paper left unpainted represents the white of the petals. Paint wet into wet washes of aureolin, Alizarin Crimson, permanent sap green. Apply Alizarin Crimson over aureolin for orange, Alizarin Crimson on green to get a darker green and yellow on green for clearer Greens.

3. Work of the background is finished.

4. To paint the heart of flowers (stamens), use of aureolin yellow and the orange Winsor.

5. The stems are painted with permanent sap green, to paint the shadows add payne's gray to green.

6. Paint shadows in the petals of the flowers with ultramarine blue, add on this colour a wet into wet Alizarin Crimson.

7. Paint the leaves by with aureolin yellow then mixtures of greens more or less dark by adding payne's gray. Darken mainly near the petals to increase contrast to bring out the white of the flowers.

8. Paint darker values with blue in the petals, add touches of orange in the stamens, using a mixture of Carmine and yellow, aureolin.

Enjoy your painting!
